This is a very high quality subwoofer and matches my other 4 JBL tower speakers in my surround sound home theater set-up perfectly. It will really pump out the low base and movie sound-effects driven by my Denon A/V receiver. It is necessary, as with all high-power subwoofers, to adjust the crossover and volume settings carefully to avoid boomy side-effects and to have the A/V receiver set up properly. You don't truly realize how much a woofer has to do with the movie experience until you get a high quality one. JBL has hit a homerun with this piece of equipment. I have no complaints. Once you find the right level for your sound system it's bass heaven. I got this for $165 on amazon. ...more

For some reason the price has skyrocketed here. I think someone realized what a great value it was and upped the price to reflect the quality of it. Bass is clean and crisp. It took sometime to adjust the little volume know at the back to complement the music and different volumes and NOT drown out the speakers. I don't know what one of the reviewers was talking about when he mentioned the volume level was low. It ...more
