I bought this receiver in May when the right channel on my 1977 Luxman R-1050 went out, the left channel still works good and i saved it for future use with only 2 speakers, but you can't have surround sound with only 2 speakers. I have a lot of experience in home electronics and enjoy setting things up, so the installation was a snap and the modification of the digital inputs was a piece of cake, although frankly I'm more impressed with the analog inputs than the digital, but that could very well be the other electronics in my stereo cabinet.
