At first I thought there was something wrong with the speakers but later I released the patchy sound I was hearing was due to an old set of red and white audio cables. After that I was in surround sound heaven. The sound quality is AWESOME and watching Black Hawk Down and Saving Private Ryan blew me out of my seat. I'm saying three bills because of the following: You'll need speaker stands/mounts, HDMI/ optical/ coaxial cables, and possibly a converter box. For the optimum experience the speakers need to be set up right or you end up missing some of the sound. The stands and mounts take care of that. HDMI cables are pretty much a no brainer and because there is only one you will need either a coaxial cable or a converter like another reviewer stated. I think my set up is the same. The up-scaling DVD player makes a regular DVD look like HD. Only thing I don't like is it does not have an auto set up like the Sony. The Sony you set an included mic where you set, push a button and it sets all the speakers up, this one you have to set all volumes one at a time manually. ...more
