It took several hours, but the instructions are good. I'm a little disappointed by the sound from the small surround sound speakers, but this may be my TV's problem, since I didn't use the cables recommended in the instructions for the highest quality sound. The lack of numerous inputs could be a detractor for some, but with the digial audio input I am able to connect several HDMI devices to my TV and pipe the audio to the system for 5.1 audio. It's all I need for a great price. My only concern with the system after three weeks is that the HDMI output port may be showing signs of flaking out (I'm hoping it's the cheap cable I bought), but I had to wiggle the cable to regain HDMI signal a couple of ...more

Having done a lot of research on this genre ( DVD surround sound system) what I find disapointing is the lack of quality accoustics coming from the speakers. Yes, they look cool around my room, especially the tall back speakers placed on stands. It is not what I consider high fidelity, in fact, the sound reproduction is quite poor. I'm a performing musician, so I demand a bit more from anything in the nature of sound reproduction. Forget sweeping strings, or clear, focussed lows, say goodbuy to crispy, textured highs. ...more

I wasn't looking for anything too big, just something good enough to enhance my movies and games, and this gets the job done. It has a good amount of inputs to hook up to a number things, such as my PS3, tv, and DVD player. The sound quality is good and loud enough for my me in my room. The auto calibration feature is nice, but after that you need to push the rear speakers' tone as well as treble, middle and bass tones. From that point you cant be disappointed.
